Perugia In August
Perugia is our capital city, known for chocolate, lots of students, evocative medieval architecture, a jazz festival, and apparently a complete indifference to the depiction of women’s breast as bowls of ice cream. What a billboard!
After a hard day of sight seeing, it’s natural to stop for a little pick me up. In our case, I ordered a ‘spremuta’ of lemon, which I hoped would be a nice, cool lemonade type drink. Instead I got a large glass of pulp filled lemon juice, lukewarm. Although I’m sure it was probably good for me, a little ice and sugar would have helped the medicine go down. The pigeons however seemed quite content to woolf down an entire bowl of peanuts in less than 30 seconds.
Imagine what that poster would have looked like if they were advertising meat balls.
