I took a trip to Italy when I was seven years old, and the memories of the food have lasted almost 20 years. It is amazing how simple, palate-pleasing flavors can be combined to make something so complex and beautiful! I’m always looking for new ways to put a Mediterranean twist on an old recipe and this generous offering would certainly do the trick. And I’m sure these tastes would create family recipes to savor for another 20 years!

I can always learn new things to cook in my toaster oven.

I’m trying to recover from being laid off 2 years ago, and am definitely cooking at home much more. I love trying new recipes and am exploring Italy as well. My gread grandpa Bernardini was from Luca, and I am working on the family geneaology from that area. I would love to explore the foods as well. Would love to win this gift basket!

This basket has all the makings of a perfect summer dinner party in a lovely backyard full of homegrown veggies and herbs and a brand new patio built by two people getting married in October. Hey, that’s me! My fiancee and I have been looking for an opportunity/excuse to invite our neighbors over for a great party to celebrate all we have done in our new backyard and this would be just the ticket – how about it? I will be sure to share pictures 🙂

I’m planning on learning to sail this summer and in case I get lost at sea I will need a delicious last meal and what better than what’s in your basket. If my sail boat sinks then the fish will enjoy a fabulous Italian meal and then whoever catches them will enjoy it once more. Recycling and sharing is a good thing. Buon Appettito!!!

Why I deserve this? Because when I read what’s in the basket, my heart LITERALLY stopped and then started beating real fast. I ramble when I’m excited so bare with me please.

Why I deserve this? Because Italian food is rooted in passion and that’s one thing I am: passionate. These ingredients would take my cooking to a different level, not complicated but just simply better. I love the simplicity of a good Italian meal even though my toes have never touched Italian earth. I’ve been lucky enough to try some amazing Italian food and cheese (Burrata still gives me the chills when I think about it), so if I won this (praying to the Italian gods, saints and angels) I’d blog about it, write about it, sing about it, tweet about it, Facebook about it, stumble upon it, even jump for joy about it. The End and thank you for hosting this amazing giveaway!
